Austria 2002

The Austrian final called song://null.zwei (click the link to go to the official site) took place on March 1st with these songs:

Manuel OrtegaManuel Ortega (right) with "Say A Word“
Loud9 with "Won‘t forget tonight“
i:levenless7 with "SMS4LOVE“
Bluatschink with "Bluama in da Scherba“
Anik Kadinski with "Be Somebody Be Someone“
Stermann & Grissemann with "Das schönste Ding der Welt“
Kubilay Bas with "Güle, Güle“
The Shepherds with "On a day in june“
Hartmann with "Supadupa“
ELA with "Love can change your heart“

Manuel Ortega took the prize with "Say a word", but rows began immediately as it has some similarities with the 1970's hit "All right now" by Free. So much so that there is a website offering an mp3 with Say a word on one channel and Alright now on the other to hear the similarity. So far its still in there.

On the contest, Ortega says: "The Song contest is a chance for me to represent Austria with pride before millions." Nothing new there. He's had hits in Austria, and has a website at this link.
