Ines had a
her first hit - ”One & Only” - last year in
Estonia & Scandinavia, and is also a member of girl trio Class Act
together with Hedvig Hanson and Maiken. The team behind ”Once
in a lifetime” are part of the production team 2 Quick Start
- also the name of a pop group led by Pearu Paulus.
Marko Reikop was again the presenter, and I managed to hear the contest live over the internet from Estonian Radio 2.
The song is very much influenced by the likes of Steps, and should do very well for Estonia.
Lines like "You give me wings, and reason why, I'll be an angel in your sky - I'm 17 only once in a lifetime - read my mind".

Some very familar
names were here, not least Evelin Samuel, the 1999
Estonian entrant. Evelin had again the same songwriting team as
she had the past two years.
We also had another
entry from Kate, and from Hedvig Hanson. Tomi Rahula was one of those
behind the 1998 Estonian entry
from Koit Toome.
Between the songs classic Eurovision clips were played, and in the interval after the songs, the video of Dana International's Free from the 1999 Song Contest was played.
As usual for Estonia, the selection juries were invited foreigners, just 10 people, but some famous names in there, including 1983 Song Contest winner Corinne Hermes, former Irish conductor Noel Kelehan, Swedish conductor Anders Berglund (just remember these guys are almost out of a job now - no orchestra in the 2000 final!), and Michael Ball - the 1992 United Kingdom entrant - the man who said he'd rather stick pins in his eyes than do the song contest again. He must have needed his ego boosting then to come on this.
