And a pre-contest preview:

Regular correspondent Tobias Larsson has been reading the web pages at Estonian TV and brings us this preview (re-edited following the minor changes found above):

Ten songs: four in Estonian and six in English. Quite a few well-known names in it as well. Ivo Linna and Koit Toome do not take part for obvious reasons: they were in the jury selecting the entries:

1.AEG KORD TÄIDAB SOOVID - Time will make our wishes come true
by Paul Kikerpuu
Performer: Gerli Padar

Kate2.DAY I LIVED A YEAR
by Harmo Kallaste
Performer: Harmo Kallaste (who was also the composer of "Keelatud maa")

3.VEE JA SOOLA SAAGA - The saga of Water and Salt
by Aivar Joonas
Performer: Kate (pictured right)
A real fave, since Kate took part in 97 (5th) and in 98 (3rd). A lively folksy number is to be expected here. The composer is also the same as in those two years.

4.IF YOU COULD ONLY HEAR ME
by Hedvig Hanson
Performer: Hedvig Hanson (who took part in Eurolaul in 94 and 96 as a duet partner to Pearu Paulus)

5.SOOLO - Solo
by Sven Lõhmus
Performer: Lauri Liiv
The composer wrote "Maailm kahele" in 1998 and the singer was one of the two to perform "Kristallid" in 98 as well.

6.MU HÄÄL - My voice
by Hanna Pruuli
Performer: Hanna Pruuli & Jakko Maltis
Hanna took part in 97 and came 2nd with "Üksik hing"

7.DIDN'T I KNOW
by Kadri Koppel
Performer: Maiken

8.SAY YOU LOVE ME
by Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar & Alar Kotkas
Performer: Pearu Paulus (who took part in 94, 96 and 97 and could be a potential winner as well)

9.OPERA ON FIRE
by Rein Rannap
Performers: Mati Kõrts, Jassi Zahharov, Mait Trink, Joel De Luna
Rein Rannap, the man behind "Maatütre tants", possibly the weirdest entry ever in a national final, is back again.

10.DIAMOND OF NIGHT
by Priit Pajusaar/Glen Pilvre/Kaari Silamaa
Performer: Evelin Samuel & Camille
[Originally this was listed as "Langevate tähtede aeg". Presumably this is the English version - GH].
This is probably the one to watch - Evelin was second last year with a smashing ballad, and the composer team wrote "Kaelakee hääl".
[Camille is a Vanessa-Mae style violinist, so this isn't a duet - GH]

Thanks very much again, Tobias!
