In the next few weeks and months this page will change to give you the chance to meet again the stars of the 1997 contest. Thirteen of the twenty-five songs have English versions and I hope to feature them all.
Norway: San Francisco - Tor Endresen

TOR ENDRESEN, one of Norway's foremost male pop singers was born in Bergen in 1959. At 18 he became a musician in a local band. Between 1979-86 was a musician and singer with dance/music group Salex where he met Arne Myksvoll. He first participated in the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest final in 1987 and has entered the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest no less than eight times, but has never won through to the final stages until this year with "San Francisco"!
Forty-two-year old ARNE MYKSVOLL is a self-educated musician who
started playing the guitar
when he was seven-years-old. In 1976 he started tbe pop group Salex
which still exists today. Tor
Endresen joined the group in 1979. Since 1980 Tor Endresen and Arne
Myksvoll have composed
several pop song together. Married with two children, Ame Myksvoll is
also a hairdresser with his
own salon.

Iceland: Minn Hinsti Dans - Paul Oscar
PAUL OSCAR is Iceland's most popular and adrmired male singer. He is the youngest of seven children from a famous musical family, and started his own career as a child star in the 1970s, then gave up singing for seven years. He has played rock,pop, Latin American and musicals, but far the last two years has concentrated on house, techno and drum 'n' bass music.
TRAUSTI HARALDSSON has written film scores and has been involved in music for 20 years. His songs have been recorded by leading Irish singers - nine of them by Daniel O'Donnell, and others by Mick Flavin, Brendan Quinn, Margo, Michael O'Brien and Frank McCaffrey. He has released two original CDs and is working on a third.
